MY NAME IS...

Or Jeffrey, if we're being formal. I answer to both.
I started designing about 35 years ago. Well before "the web" meant The Web. And waaaaay before having a website was a requirement.
lucky for me
I was in the right place at the right time. Being there at the beginning meant clients turned to us, the designers, to whiteboard answers to some of the REALLY BIG QUESTIONS like...
*Good web design, in my experience, isn't just a matter of opinion. Good design projects (web or otherwise) have a purpose — a reason for the undertaking. And we have to be able to measure the results of the investment — to know if we've been successful.

oh, just a few decades ago
You might say I've been keeping busy these past few decades...
During the 1990s, I launched the design firm Studio Eye-Q in New York City and Boston. I had the good fortune of guiding over 400 print and web design projects — for clients including Time Life Pictures, Barnes & Noble (bn.com), Everbank.com, Pepsi, Dannon, AT&T, as well as fashion designers Carolina Herrera, Pierre Balmain and Yves Saint Laurent. Our hard work was recognized with awards like the Forbes “Best of the Web” and the Gomez Advisors usability award for finance.
After Studio Eye-Q, I served as Creative Director for Event Zero, leading creative and multidisciplinary teams for clients such as Barnes & Noble, EDU.com and Everbank.com.
coming back home
After leading larger teams, I began to miss rolling up my sleeves and working hands-on with clients. So I moved back into my home studio in Belmont, MA, and launched jeffrey korn | creative.
I love the creative freedom and flexibility that working solo offers me. I'm more nimble. I adjust on-the-fly to clients' needs, in ways that bigger firms often can't. In fact, being more responsive to my clients challenges me to be even more creative!
sharing what I've learned
In addition to my design work, I've been teaching communications at Harvard College (my alma mater) and Harvard Business School, Disney, The CIA, The U.S. Federal Reserve, Coca-Cola, Amex, GE, BCG Consulting and Digitas.
I now make my home in Belmont, MA, where I balance my time between my family, my tech startup and jeffrey korn | creative.
